Mr. Dustin Denson

Assistant Principal

Welcome to Carver Road Middle School!

It’s a true privilege to serve as Assistant Principal at Carver Road Middle School for the 2025–2026 school year. With over a decade of experience in education across multiple grade levels and school settings, I bring a passion for instructional leadership, student engagement, and school-wide success. I’ve always believed that great schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to growth for students and adults alike.

My journey began in the classroom as a middle grades Social Studies teacher, where I quickly discovered the power of connecting content to real-life experiences. I later served as a Media Specialist at both the elementary and high school levels, leading initiatives in literacy, technology integration, and professional learning. These roles gave me a well-rounded perspective on how to support students and teachers at every level. I hold a Bachelor of Science in History from Gordon State College, a Master’s in Education in Instructional Technology from Valdosta State University, and an Ed.S. Tier II Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.

At Carver Road, I am focused on supporting our students in reaching their highest potential while working alongside an incredible team of educators and families. Whether it’s guiding instructional practices, helping students navigate challenges, or celebrating the daily wins that make our school community special, I’m proud to be part of the Eagle family. Let’s make the 2026–2027 school year our best yet!

Ms. Wright

Mrs. Courtney Wright

Assistant Principal

Welcome!

I am Courtney Wright, and I am truly honored to continue serving the Griffin-Spalding community. I began my educational career in 2013 as an eager seventh grade English teacher in room 709 right here at Carver Road Middle School. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving in various leadership roles at Carver, and I am excited to continue the new school year as one of the Assistant Principals here at Carver.

I am a proud alumna of Fort Valley State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education and became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. I later earned a Master of Education degree in Middle Grades Education from Walden University and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Thomas University. I currently hold an Educational Leadership Tier I certification from The University of West Georgia and continue to pursue opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.

As an educational leader, I am passionate about fostering a positive school culture where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to succeed. I believe strong relationships, high expectations, and meaningful collaboration between educators, families, and the community are essential to student achievement. My goal is to help create an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

My husband and I are both administrators, and together we are proud parents of two beautiful children. Serving students and families is not only my profession, but also my passion.

I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, parents, and community to make the new school year a remarkable and successful one.
