Welcome to Carver Road Middle School – Home of Scholars and Champions!
I am honored to begin my 25th year in education and to continue serving as principal of Carver Road Middle School! It is a joy to lead such a dynamic school that is committed to academic excellence, leadership development, and student success.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in both middle and high school settings in various roles—teacher, graduation coach, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. My journey began in Monroe County Schools, and for 13 years, I served as a high school administrator. I am proud to have been recognized as a Middle School Teacher of the Year and a finalist for the GASSP Assistant Principal of the Year. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University, as well as a Master’s in Curriculum and Technology from the University of Phoenix.
My husband, Tony, and I are the proud parents of Brandon, who is beginning his junior year of college. My hobbies include cheering on my favorite football teams, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Here at Carver Road Middle School, we believe in the power of every student and staff member to LEAD. Our campus is proudly:
An AVID Certified School, empowering students through critical thinking, organization, and college readiness skills.
A Leader in Me School, where we cultivate leadership in every student.
A GaDOE Math Leader School, committed to excellence in mathematics instruction.
And most recently, the District Champions in both Basketball and Football for the second year in a row!
We are incredibly proud of our school community, our students, and our dedicated staff. Every day, we strive to deliver engaging and rigorous instruction that challenges students to read, write, speak, and solve real-world problems at grade level. We also encourage your child to get involved in one of our many clubs or extracurricular activities.
Let’s work together to make this school year our best yet. I look forward to partnering with each of you as we soar to new heights!
With 2185 Pride,
Sarah Alford
